This journey takes you through four of the region’s most celebrated national parks—Arusha, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro Crater—offering a diverse blend of game viewing, scenic beauty, and authentic safari experiences. Ideal for first-time visitors and returning adventurers alike, this well-rounded itinerary showcases the best of Tanzania’s northern circuit in just five memorable days.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. After check-in, take time to relax and recover from your journey. Your guide will also provide a short safari briefing to prepare you for the adventure ahead. Overnight in Arusha.
After breakfast, your guide will collect you from your hotel between 8:00 and 8:30 AM and drive to Arusha National Park. Located at the base of Mount Meru, the park is known for its picturesque scenery, including lush forests, open savannah, and sparkling lakes.
Begin with a short game drive, keeping an eye out for species such as giraffe, buffalo, and the black-and-white colobus monkey. Later, enjoy a guided walking safari—a unique opportunity to explore the park on foot in the company of a professional ranger. Return to your lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, depart from Arusha at 7:00 AM and drive to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2.5 hours). With your packed lunch, enjoy a full-day game drive in one of Tanzania’s most underrated yet rewarding parks.
Tarangire is famed for its massive baobab trees, large herds of elephants, and rich wildlife diversity. During the drive, expect to encounter lions, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and various antelope species. The Tarangire River, which runs through the park, draws animals throughout the day, providing excellent game-viewing opportunities. After the safari, head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Following breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park at around 8:30 AM. With its diverse ecosystems ranging from groundwater forests to alkaline lake shores, the park is home to a wide variety of wildlife including elephants, baboons, impalas, hippos, and—occasionally—tree-climbing lions.
Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch at a scenic spot. During the right season, the lake hosts large flocks of pink flamingos, creating a stunning contrast against the green landscape. Return to your lodge by early evening for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, check out and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a half-day game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater—a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations.
Descend 600 meters into the crater and explore its rich ecosystem, home to the Big Five, large pods of hippos, thousands of grazing herbivores, and a wide variety of bird species including flamingos and raptors. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool before ascending the crater walls and beginning the journey back to Arusha (approx. 3.5 hours). Arrive by early evening for drop-off at your preferred location or transfer to the airport.
