10-Day Northern Safari & Zanzibar Holiday

Overview

This 10-day itinerary blends exciting wildlife safaris with tropical island relaxation. You’ll start in Arusha, then explore Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater—spotting animals like lions, elephants, and flamingos along the way. After the safari, you’ll fly to Zanzibar to unwind on the beach, visit historic Stone Town, meet giant tortoises on Prison Island, and enjoy a full day of snorkeling and sailing on the Safari Blue tour. It’s a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation for the whole family.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
You will be met upon arrival and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Briefing on the upcoming safari will follow. The rest of the day is free to relax after your journey.

Day 2: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park
Drive to Lake Manyara for a game drive in this diverse park, famous for its tree-climbing lions, flamingos, and groundwater forest. Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue the game drive before heading to your lodge.

Day 3: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, proceed to Serengeti National Park with a game drive en route. Enjoy an afternoon exploring the park’s abundant wildlife before settling into your camp.

Day 4: Full Day Serengeti Game Drive
Embark on a full day of game drives in the Serengeti, maximizing your chances to see the Big Five and other fascinating species. Enjoy lunch in the wild and return to camp for dinner.

Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Enjoy a morning game drive as you exit Serengeti and drive to Ngorongoro. Optional stop at Olduvai Gorge or a Maasai village before reaching your lodge on the crater rim.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha – Zanzibar
Descend into the crater for a half-day tour. After lunch, return to Arusha for your flight to Zanzibar. Transfer to your beach hotel for overnight stay.

Day 7: Leisure Day at the Beach
Relax with your family at the resort, enjoy the pool, take a walk along the beach, or participate in kid-friendly water activities.

Day 8: Prison Island & Stone Town Tour
Take a boat trip to Prison Island, home to giant tortoises, and learn about its history. Return to Stone Town for a guided cultural tour and shopping. Return to the hotel in the evening.

Day 9: Safari Blue Adventure
Enjoy a full-day boat excursion with snorkeling, seafood BBQ lunch, and dolphin spotting on a traditional dhow as part of the popular Safari Blue experience.

Day 10: Departure
After breakfast, relax until your transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
